What we collect, why, and what we deliberately do not collect.
A note on this page. This is a working draft written for a small independent site. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. It describes what we actually do, and we would rather publish that plainly than leave the page empty.
The short version
We collect as little as we can. We do not sell your data. We do not knowingly collect anything from or about a child.
What we collect
- If you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, and the date you
confirmed it.
- If you use the contact form: your name, email address, the topic you chose and
your message.
- Standard technical information every website receives, such as the page you
requested and an abbreviated network address.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for, and do not want:
- A child's name, birthday, photograph, school, or location
- Accounts or profiles for children
- Anything you type into the free tools on this site — those calculations happen
in your own browser and are not sent to us
Why we hold it
To send the newsletter you asked for, to reply to your message, and to keep the site working and free of abuse. Nothing else.
How long we keep it
Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards, then removed.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. Service providers who host the site or deliver email process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in it. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by using the contact form.
Children
This site is written for adults. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated date on this page changes with it.
