Accessibility

What we have built in, what we are still working on, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.

What we aim for

We build towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is a target we work to, not a certificate we are claiming.

What is built in

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
  • Text meets contrast requirements against its background
  • Headings, lists and landmarks are real HTML, so screen readers can navigate
  • Images that carry meaning have alternative text
  • Buttons and links are large enough to hit on a phone
  • Animation is subtle, and stops entirely if your device asks for reduced motion

Where we know there is more to do

Accessibility is not a state you finish. As new sections are added — filters, the activity finder, printables — each is checked, and anything that falls short is listed here.

Tell us

If any part of this site is hard to use, please tell us through the contact form. Say which page and what happened, and we will fix it and reply.
