How products get recommended here
Short version: a product only appears when it makes an activity easier, and we say plainly why.
The activity comes first
This is not a shop. Products appear because they make a specific activity easier, longer-lasting, or less messy — not because a page needed something to sell.
What we look for
- It earns its place. If a cereal box does the same job, we will say so.
- It lasts beyond one afternoon.
- It suits the age we recommend it for, including the fiddly bits.
- It is realistically available, at a price that is not silly.
- It does not need a screen, an app, or a subscription to work.
What we will not do
- Invent ratings, review counts, or sales figures
- Claim we have tested something we have not
- Manufacture urgency — no fake countdowns, fake stock levels, or fake discounts
- Recommend something purely because it pays more
Prices and availability
Prices change and stock runs out. Anything we mention about price is a guide at the time of writing; the retailer's own page is always the accurate one.
Affiliate links
Some product links earn us a commission. That never changes which products we choose or what we say about them. The affiliate disclosure explains this in full.
